Power Up! Local Elementary School going green
with battery recycling program. Last Friday, the local NGO FIT conducted a
presentation on recycling waste batteries at the Faik Konica elementary school.
Supported by the Embassy in Pristina, FIT is implementing a six-month project
to help authorities of the Municipality of Pristina and Fushe-Kosove identify
and solve environmental issues occurring from waste batteries in the region.
The students were bursting with energy as they learned about the steps involved
in recycling. In time and with active participation and support from the
community, FIT hopes to implement a citywide program for the collection and
recycling of waste batteries. We wish them a lot of luck in their important
work!
